Alexis M. Valos, Ph.D.
Dr. Alexis M. Valos is a California licensed clinical psychologist, credentialed school psychologist, and credentialed elementary school teacher with specific training in child psychology, child neuropsychology, and education/special education. She specializes in child/adolescent neuropsychological and psychological assessments, as well as parent training skills and supportive counseling for parents of minor children.  Dr. Valos also has extensive training in play therapy, child attachment, and applied behavior analysis/behavior modification skills.  Dr. Valos currently maintains a private practice in Bakersfield, where she works as a child and adolescent psychologist at the Children's Psychiatric Wellness Center.
Dr. Valos has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of psychology and education.  She currently works with a broad spectrum of minor clients.  Among her areas of expertise are assessment, differential diagnosis in children, parent skills training, and creative applications of interventions and accommodations in the home and classroom.   

Dr. Valos is a practical, interactive, innovative, and solution-focused clinician. With the help of diagnostic support, her treatment approach is to provide useable information along with evidence-based feedback to help clients resolve current issues. Dr. Valos uniquely incorporates a blend of conventional and alternative approaches, drawing upon the latest discoveries in healthcare, neuroscience, psychological theory, and educational research in order to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client.
